STEP 1: On a plastic container take a marker and allowing for displacement, place a mark at a level to which you will fill with Rust Medic rust remover. Fill your container to this level. If over time the liquid level should fall below this mark, replace the evaporated quantity with fresh tap water. Only water will be lost to evaporation, not the active ingredients in Rust Medic.

STEP 2: Place your rusted item into the Rust Medic solution and leave to soak. Periodic checking will indicate progress. Cleaning times will take longer in colder temperatures and be extremely quick in warmer temperatures.

Progress is obvious after a short period of soaking.

STEP 3: When it is obvious that all rust has been removed as in Figure 4: remove the item from the Rust Medic solution and rinse with water to remove loose carbon deposits. STEP 4: Dry thoroughly and coat with Steel Shield to prevent flash rusting. Let Steel Shield dry and store in a dry place.

Progress is obvious after a short period of soaking.

The results are self-explanatory after an overnight soak.
